In my lifetime I have been daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, widow, great grandmother, widow and partner. Never in those years did I take photographs (except for family memories). I was busy raising 5 children and frankly I didn’t have time. 7 years ago my partner gave me a camera and in 2020 we renovated the old wood shop into a studio. I had a lot of learning to do and I have enjoyed every moment. My goal has always been to learn to tell the stories that have been rattling around in my brain for many years. When I became confident enough I began entering contests, both to gain knowledge and for validation. I don’t have a specialty but prefer art centered around the Fine Arts. This may be portrait (which I love), self portrait (I am after all always available) , still life or conceptual with the idea of telling stories. I also love street photography with Elliott Erwitt and Paul Strand as guides to what I want to achieve. During Covid I dappled in macro because, well, insects were also available and it was a skill I wanted to try to learn. Since the beginning I have had my work displayed at the Mediterranean House of Photography in Barcelona and twice in Paris. (State of the World and Der Greif) . Also I have been included in the Fotonostrum magazine and the recently published Der Greif Magazine Issue 16. Also I have been so very honored and pleased to have been an Official Selection in the 2023 London Creative, 2 Bronze awards in the Rise Awards, Overall Non Professional winner in the Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, 3rd place and honorable mention in Monochrome Awards, Bronze and Silver in Budapest Awards 2022, short listed Siena Creative 23 and 23, Merit Award in the Fotonostrum Portrait Awards, honorable mentions in the IPA Awards, Silver award in Children in the Pollux Awards, Curators Selection in the State of the World Px3 Awards 2022, short listed State of the World 2023. 2024 - Gold in Budapest Photo Awards, 2nd place KLPA portrait contest, I will continue to learn and tell stories because after 75 years I'm not done yet!
