My journey in photography began right after university, when I started taking a small point-and-shoot camera with me on trips across Russia. Visiting places like Lake Baikal, Kamchatka, and the Altai Mountains, I wanted to capture these landscapes and share them with my family, who couldn't see them in person. Over time, the limits of that little camera became noticeable, and in 2015 I bought my first interchangeable-lens camera — the Canon EOS M3. It was a revelation: for the first time, I felt I could not only document reality but also create thoughtful, artistic images. At the same time, its compact size allowed me to bring it everywhere — from the Caucasus to the Putorana Plateau. As the years passed, my interests shifted. I became drawn not only to new places, but also to mood, atmosphere, and visual harmony. I enjoy photographing anything that helps show the familiar from a different perspective: candid moments of my children playing, where emotions are real; macro details that reveal hidden worlds; and off-season landscapes that look different from what one would expect. After a break of several years, my passion for photography was reignited when I bought the Canon EOS R6 Mark II. It inspired me to return to creativity and rethink my approach to making images. I had never entered competitions before, often doubting the artistic value of my work, but now I’m eager to share what I see and feel — and continue searching for my own photographic voice.
