From the moment I first picked up a camera, in September of 2024, I immediately knew that I had found a way to begin my conversation with the world, and a much deeper one with myself. I have spent the last year probing the world with my lens, forcing myself to examine my feelings about things and how that influences the world I choose to reflect in my photographs. What of myself is actually there in the work? What thoughts and history I am bringing to it? What are others projecting onto it? What are they pulling from it? A back and forth. The push of an image into the world. The pull on personal history as a viewer interprets it through their own lens. A conversation I hope never ends.
