About Artist

Poung Young Kwak

Kwak Poung-young is a media artist from Korea, born in 1967 in Gimje and raised in Jeonju. With degrees in metallurgical engineering and business administration, he began his career in 1992 as a video director. In 1999, he started aerial photography after acquiring a small aircraft license, and since 2015, has used drones to document natural and rural landscapes. His works—ranging from agricultural land to glaciers and salt fields—have been exhibited in 13 solo and over 50 group exhibitions worldwide, including in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
